Writing workshop: 2 day (full) workshop for NORSI students.

Content and Program
NORSI organizes a two-day writing seminar in 24-25 October 2019. During these two days, you will work on your writing skills as well as attend short workshops focusing on «the art of academic writing». Talks and discussion will focus on the following topics:
- How to structure your writing time, get progress in your writing and overcome writer’s blocks
- How to write high quality texts and how to avoid the most common language problems that plague academic texts
- How to convince your audience (and editors and reviewers in particular)
A detailed program will be available as we get closer to the dates.

Who can attend?
NORSI students who have progressed enough in their PhD to have written at least a first draft of one paper/article may attend. To attend, you have to bring with you one text that you will work on during the retreat – preferably a close to finished first draft of a paper or a draft that you are currently revising.

Preference will be given to NORSI students that have not attended a writing seminar before.
Accommodation
The seminar will be held at Scandic Holmenkollen Park Hotel in Oslo. For the students travelling from outside Oslo accommodation will be reserved for you for one or two nights (23-25 October). However, if you all ready reside in Oslo we appareciate you attending the seminar as day guest. The hotel is easily accessible with public transportation. However, you have to apply to attend the seminar even if you don’t need accmmodation.
Travel Refund
NORSI will pay for accommodation and food, but you have to pay for your travel yourself. All seminar meals etc. and accommodation will be paid for directly by NORSI. Thus, you will not submit a travel refund form for this seminar to NORSI.
