NORSI Research School Conference 2018 – Register now!
11-12 January 2018 at BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo.
NORSI invites anyone interested in the latest within innovation research, friends and networks partners of NORSI to attend this 1,5 day conference.
We encourage all NORSI students, alumni, board members and supervisors to attend.
The aim is to provide a comfortable and open environment for students to presents their research in progress, findings so far, and to receive feedback and support from peers. There will also be open round table discussions about a choosen topic. This is intended to be a platform for all students and not just those whom are near completion. Taking part in the conference is seen as an important part of the research education for students that are part of NORSI. The conference is open for anyone but only NORSI PhD students may present.
NORSI students who opt to not present are encouraged to attend. NORSI students attending will be asked to be junior opponents. Even if you do not present, we might ask you to be a junior discussant on a paper.
The conference will start at noon on Thursday, 11 January and end in the afternoon on Friday, 12 January 2018 (no later than 15:00). A draft schedule of presenters will been posted on this page after 15 December. Please check before the conference as there may be slight unavoidable changes due to absences etc
Please discuss this event with your supervisors to make the most of this opportunity.
There will be an tapas-dinner reception after the presentations on Thursday evening.
Key Note Speaker: Professor Ben Martin
We are happy to announce that Professor Ben Martin, Professor of Science & Technology Policy Studies (SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit, Business and Management) University of Sussex, UK and Editor of Research Policy will provide the Key Note lecture at the NORSI Conference 2018. The title for his lecture is TBA. However, his topic will focus on the integrity and ethics of publishing.
Ben Martin is Professor of Science and Technology Policy Studies at SPRU (Science and Technology Policy Research, University of Sussex), where he served as Director from 1997 to 2004. He is also Associate Fellow, Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP), and Senior Visiting Fellow, Centre for Business Research, Judge Business School. He has a BA (first class honours) degree in Natural Sciences (Physics) from the University of Cambridge (where he was a Kitchener Scholar at Churchill College), and an MSc (on ‘The Structure and Organisation of Science and Technology’) from the University of Manchester. Abstracts and Presentations
Each presentation will receive prepared feed-back from both a senior and junior opponent. Each student will be given 25 min.; 15 min. presentation and 10 min for feed-back/questions. The paper to be submitted before the conference does not have to be a complete work, and can be in progress. Max. length should be about 8000 words, however shorter papers in draft versions are also acceptable. All abstractss from the NORSI student conference 2016 are available here.
The deadline for submitting an abstrct is 15 December 2017.
Travel and accommodation will be covered for all NORSI students, supervisors and representatives. A blook of room has been reserved at Radisson Nydalen hotel. Please reserve your room by sending Birte an email. All travel expences (economy) will be refunded after the conference.
